In celebration of its anniversary a special event, "The Golden Stag from black and white to color" was presented March 1st 2008
Six years ago, Paula won the trophy, here is a quote from the Golden Stag web site: “The Trophy remained at home for another year, as the solo performer Paula Seling, representing Romania in 2002, dashed all hopes of the other competitors participating in the festival from all over the world” Paula tells all about it in her Biography
Some of the musicians attending the festival over the years include: Julio Iglesias, Christina Aguilera, James Brown, Kenny Rogers, Culture Beat, Paul Young, Boy George, Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis, Diana Ross, Sheryl Crow, INXS, UB 40, Cyndi Lauper, Boyz II Men, Scorpions, Ricky Martin, Simple Minds, Pink and many more.
