Acolo Sus (Up High)

These days I’ve been working on the English version of “Acolo Sus” and the Romanian version of “Get Up Now” and… they both ended up much too sad.
I hope it’s not the rain outside.
However, you should know there are only a few words that I mean to tell you: everything that I’ve experienced lately was certainly worth-while, because the main characters of our discussion are people who love like us, cry like us and dream like us.
I may be the target for many people’s arrows by now, but I know that I’m not alone and someday, generations to come, a few people would experience the result of our struggle.

I know you are waiting for me to tell the rest of the story. I promised Radu I won’t be “weeping” this time. So, short and relevant: everything else was beautiful. Florin Salam sang with me “ Tu Nu Vezi?!” (Can’t You See?!) and his voce made the meaning of the words grow deep. At the end of the song I turned back to an instrumentalist of the orchestra and I could distinguish his lips saying “Well done!”. I smiled at him and sank again in the outside world.
You see, unfortunately regardless of our skin color, our musical preferences, the people we love or those whom we respect, the reality of our world is the same and it affects us all.
