A Sunny Sunday.

25 February 2008 Hello everyone!

It is a perfect, warm, quiet Sunday in Bucharest.

A day with the smell of early spring in the air. It is a beautiful day except for a few small "incidents" on our Romanian web forum this morning but now everything is calm with a few wandering thoughts. Deep down in my soul the feeling of emptiness has arrived, the same emptiness that you feel after finishing an exam session or that feeling you get when you return home after spending the Holidays with your family. It is the same quiet sensation you feel after a storm. You count the wounds, analyze "tactical" mistakes and receive encouragement and greetings from close ones and you also dream. The moments of shining lights have fled so fast that you almost didn't have time to feel them, it is that same you had as a child the day after the holidays.

A friend once told me that your whole life is a thin wire of expectations and wishes, intersected by some shiny moments. Happiness sparkles like tiny little stars caught here and there, along the way. It is important to realize though that the rest of your life should also be beautiful. I admire serene, open hearted people that are full of light and optimism, people that turn any bitter day into a sunny spring day. I sometimes wonder what their secret is, and other times, like today, I feel like I know it.

There are plenty of battles that we fight every day and the hardest one’s are the inner fights. We are human and our troubles come from lack of belief in ourselves, frustration, prejudgments, refusing to accept reality and from the lack of an ability to maintain our objectiveness.

I saw some dark looks after the show but the fact still remains that we have three winners of the National Eurovision Contest 2008. The winners are Nico, Vlad Mirita and Andrei Tudor and we must support them and be proud of them because they represent Romania. We must understand that personal taste in music isn’t always the same as popular taste in music. Eurovision is a pop song contest and the vote of the people is very important. Romania voted for the winning song with 8277 votes.

I send my congratulations to Andrei Tudor for his beautiful composition, to Nico for her performance, voice, perseverance and Her will to succeed, and to Vlad Mirita for his evolution and his performance.

Unfortunately instead of sending congratulations and other happy feelings some people are choosing mean reactions and attacks. Some people have started to look for stolen passages, inspirations or any other thing that could disqualify the song but the time for such things has passed. Pe-o margine de lume has won and it is a beautiful song that will represent Romania with honor and dignity in the Eurovision Song Contest

Shine is also an excellent song that raised the quality of the show and the level of the competition. I feel honored and happy to have been part of this special event. I re-met artists that I haven't seen in a long time and I was happy for the winners, the people I have seen many times over the years. I was happy for them, as I would hope, they would be happy for me.

I wish and hope that every participant will fulfill their dreams of one day becoming the winner but I also hope everyone will learn something from this experience and come to understand that their path is uncertain. Today this is the road that has been given to us and today we need to give good will to those that have won and wish them success in Eurovision.
