“De sarbatori” – “For Holidays”

27 Octomber 2006 Today is a much more peaceful day.
I’m glad that, finally, the Christmas album is ready, “packed” and sent for copy.

It will be with you on November 15 at the most.

It’s useless to mention, I think, that the album is a magical one. It’s called “De sarbatori” and it consists of 14 Christmas carols and holy songs that I ‘ve never sang before. Most of them are picked from a gathering of songs, received from Father Gheorge Avram from the Valea Mare Monastery. One of the carols is a duet with the great Stefan Petreus and his son Andrei Petreus who delighted us with their presence at the Unicorn Studio. I wouldn’t have thought, a few years ago, when I listened fascinated, to the sweet music of the Petreus brothers, that I would, one day, have half of the symbol of the Maramures music in a traditional carol of Maramures – “De Nasterea Ta, Isuse”.

On of the Christmas carols has a very special vibe. It’s called “Leganelul lui Isus” and it was interpreted in the perfect form: Olga Manescu-cello, Simona Sindrestean-oboe, Sebastian Tegzesiu-violin, Sergiu Tuhutiu-piano.

Another special guest on this album is Victor Solomon and we’re playing “La Viflaim Colo-n Jos” together.

Obviously, I couldn’t stop the collaboration with one of the most talented and artistic arrangers that I’ve worked with – Calin Ionce, the one that completed my carol albums until now. “Praznic Luminos” and “Din An In An” are all his “doing” .

“Ziurel De Ziua”, “Iata Vin Colindatori”, “Auzit-am Auzit”, “Doamne, A tale Cuvinte”, “Ce-ati Vazut Pastori”, “Hristos S-a Nascut” are other carols that I wanted very much to offer you this year.
Some songs on the album are unique. The arrangements were made with care and abnegation, and they are there to take you on a trip to the perfect world, where man and Heaven have the ideal connection. I wished very much that these songs to open up a state of self estimation and introspection, which are very “called for” befor the Holidays. I’m talking about three songs: “Cruce Sfanta Parasita”, “Asa Vorbeste Domnul Slavei”, “O, Ma-ntorc”.

I don’t know if I succeeded, only you are capable of making this judgment.
